Regional workshop for university lecturers from Asia-Pacific

UNODC, under the E4J initiative, will hold an Expert Workshop for university lecturers at Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand, on 25-27 June 2019. The workshop is organized with the support of the Faculty of Economics at Thammasat University and the UNODC regional office in Thailand. The objective of the Workshop is to bring together university lecturers, in their individual capacity, to discuss and reflect on their experiences of teaching the E4J Integrity and Ethics University Modules. In particular, during the three-day meeting, participants will:

  • enhance their familiarity with the E4J Integrity and Ethics University Modules;
  • consider effective approaches to teaching the modules in universities around the world, at both the undergraduate and graduate level;
  • strengthen their capacity to teach courses based on the modules;
  • improve their ability to adapt and integrate the modules into existing or new courses; and
  • address impact assessments and follow-up activities for enhancing integrity and ethics education at the university level.

Prior to the workshop, each participant will teach at least one of the modules in their ongoing courses. At the workshop, they will discuss and reflect on their experience of teaching the modules, thus helping UNODC to continuously improve the materials and enhance its support for integrity and ethics education worldwide.

Having recently completed the development of the E4J University Modules on Integrity and Ethics, UNODC is now focusing on implementing them and engaging as many universities and academics as possible to strengthen integrity and ethics education worldwide. The Expert Workshop is a key part of this endeavour. The modules and an associated teaching guide are freely available on the E4J website.
