Ministry of Justice and UNODC launched TIK TOK video contest on integrity and transparency

La Paz, August 03, 2021 (United Nations) - With the aim of contributing to the generation of audiovisual messages to promote the values of integrity, transparency, and honesty from the voice of children and adolescents using the Tik Tok platform, the UNODC and the Ministry of Justice and Institutional Transparency with the support of the Embassy of Sweden launched the contest "Light, camera and action for Transparency".

The contest is aimed at children and adolescents from 10 to 18 years of age, where contestants must make videos with a minimum duration of 30 seconds and a maximum of 60 seconds where they present messages about the values of integrity, transparency and honesty. Two categories were considered for the contest: Boys and girls from 10 to 13 years old, in which participants in this age range can make their video with their father, mother or guardian or individually with their supervision. In the teenagers 13 to 18 years of age category, participants in this category can make their video individually, with the supervision of a parent or guardian.

The contestant videos will be evaluated by two representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Institutional Transparency and two representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime under the following criteria: Thematic video, the video must contain or disseminate one or more of the following values of integrity, transparency, honesty; Creativity, the video must be authentic and unpublished, must be an own creation and not be published on another platform or app previously; and Production, i.e. quality of image capture (framing, lighting), audio clarity and use of effects. This contest is part of the project "Institutional Transparency and Citizen Participation for Municipal Governance" implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Ministry of Justice and Institutional Transparency with the support of the Embassy of Sweden. Other contests have been carried out jointly, such as the "TransparentARTE" poster contest, where 61 contestants from 7 departments of the country participated with 86 poster proposals from young people between 16 and 28 years of age, which contributed to the generation of graphic and artistic messages that raise awareness among the population about integrity and transparency.
