Vienne, le 5 avril 2019 - Le Représentant permanent de la Belgique auprès des Nations Unies à Vienne, Ghislain d'Hoop, a rencontré aujourd'hui le Directeur exécutif de l'Office des Nations Unies contre la drogue et le crime (ONUDC), Yury Fedotov, pour annoncer une contribution de deux millions d'euros au Fonds Fiduciaire des Nations Unies pour les Victimes de la Traite des Êtres Humains.

25 March 2019 - During a hackathon co-organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), 45 students of the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey, USA, spent 32 hours designing innovative tech-based solutions to identify, increase awareness and enhance the use of information to prosecute human trafficking cases.

L'Office des Nations Unies contre la drogue et le crime (ONUDC) a ainsi formé 18 procureurs, juges et officiers de police judiciaire d'Afrique de l'Ouest à devenir formateurs en coopération judiciaire internationale pour mieux combattre la traite des personnes et le trafic illicite de migrants.
Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, 28 February 2019 - Human trafficking and the smuggling of migrants has a strong regional dimension in West Africa. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) therefore trained 18 West African prosecutors, judges and judicial police officers to become trainers on international judicial cooperation to better combat trafficking in persons and migrant smuggling.

9 January 2019 - The first conviction for Trafficking in Persons for domestic servitude was handed down in Colombia in September 2018. The case was led by a Prosecutor who participated in a UNODC training and based her legal arguments before the court on concepts she had learned in the training, including the concept of abuse of a position of vulnerability. The judicial decision of the case refers to a relevant UNODC Issue Paper.

9 janvier 2019 - La première condamnation pour traite des personnes à des fins de servitude domestique a été prononcée en Colombie en septembre 2018. L'affaire a été menée par une procureure qui avait participé à une formation de l'Office des Nations Unies contre la drogue et le crime. Devant le tribunal, elle a pu fonder ses arguments juridiques sur les concepts qu'elle avait appris pendant la formation, notamment celui de l'abus de faiblesses. La décision judiciaire de l'affaire se réfère au document thématique de l'ONUDC sur « l'abus d'une situation de vulnérabilité et autres « moyens » au sens de la définition de la traite des personnes ».

El caso fue dirigido por una Fiscal que participó en un entrenamiento de la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas contra la Droga y el Delito y basó sus argumentos jurídicos ante el juez de conocimiento en conceptos que había aprendido durante la capacitación, incluido el concepto de abuso en una situación de vulnerabilidad.
