Home About Statistics Publications Standards & Manuals

Like the previous editions of the Global Study on Homicide, the 2018 edition will provide analysis of the latest available data to increase understanding of levels of, and trends in, intentional homicide. Containing a wealth of information to raise awareness, inform action and support crime and violence prevention, the Study analyses the typologies and drivers of homicide, its mechanisms, geographical distribution and who is most at risk of being intentionally killed. The thematic focus of the 2018 edition will be on the links between homicide, sustainable development and the rule of law.

The Study will be published in six booklets designed to enhance reader friendliness while maintaining the wealth of information contained within. An online version of one of the booklets, Gender-related killing of women and girls, is being pre-released to support action and awareness on the International day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. All six booklets will be published in the first quarter of 2019.
