18 April 2018 - The organized crime component of the E4J was invited to present at the International Seminar on "Mafia and Anti-Mafia in Europe", held at the University of Milan, Italy, on 17-19 April 2018. In this context, CSS/OCB presented the teaching guide on organized crime that is currently being finalized and that is meant to offer guidance and support to academics teaching or wishing to teach in this field. The session elaborated on the UN Guidelines in the field of crime prevention, the content of the teaching guide and covered the interactive and case-based methodology suggested in the materials. This methodology was practically demonstrated
through the presentation of some of the elements of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime in light of a real-life case study. CSS/OCB presentations were followed by an open discussion with the audience, composed of around 50 academics from universities in Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK, as well as representatives of the local authorities involved in the integration of the rule of law and culture of lawfulness in academic curricula.
