UN Office On Drugs and Crime marks International Day of Women Judges with panel discussion on equality for justice

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime will mark the second International Day of Women Judges on 9 March with a panel discussion on “Equality for justice.” The event will be opened by UNODC Executive Director Ghada Waly and Alma Zadić, Minister of Justice of Austria.

United Nations General Assembly Resolution 75/274 designated 10 March the International Day of Women Judges. This one-hour hybrid event with experts from different regions will focus on experiences of women judges and prosecutors in countering organized crime and tackling inequality and discrimination and will be centred around gender equality and judicial integrity.

The event will be moderated by Umej Singh Bhatia, Permanent Representative of Singapore to the United Nations in Vienna.
