Survey on impact of UNODC assistance - 2017 |
||
This document provides a brief overview of the results of the annual survey that UNODC conducts to assess the impact/relevance of its technical support activities in the scientific and forensic field.
The UNODC laboratory and forensic science services programme seeks to ensure that Member States have access to, and use quality forensic science services in their efforts against drugs and crime. UNODC's support to the scientific and forensic sector is to a large extent delivered directly to beneficiaries, comprising drug analysis and forensic science laboratories, law enforcement authorities and health and regulatory authorities, supporting their activities through participation in the International Collaborative Exercises, receipt of chemical reference materials or drug/precursor testing kits or access to UNODC scientific publications.
The feedback received from the survey participants contributes to the further development of UNODC's technical scientific support programme to better assist Member States in responding to existing and new challenges. Suggestions and comments received from the client base are incorporated into the implementation strategy of the UNODC Laboratory and Scientific Section in subsequent years. |
