In the second half of 2021 the pandemic situation remained volatile globally and intergovernmental meetings with cross-regional travel could not be universally organized with in-person participation. Reservations at the regional commissions could not be made and rules and regulations differed between countries.
In light of the continued COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting situation described above, the meetings of the subsidiary bodies of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (HONEURO, HONLAF, HONLAC, HONLAP and Subcommission) were organized in 2021 in a virtual format, as extraordinary sessions.
