On 24 November 2021, UNODC Global Firearms Programme (GFP) has facilitated the 6th Meeting of the Working Group on Firearms Data Collection in Ukraine. The overall objective of the Working Group is to ensure submission of high-quality information to UNODC’s Illicit Arms Flow Initiative (IAFI) on regular basis.
The members of the Working Group, who represent various departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Police of Ukraine, the State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, and the General Prosecutor’s Office, have finalized their work on the review of the data for UNODC’ Questionnaire. In this meeting they have reviewed the last parts of the Questionnaire and reached the following conclusions: 1) based on the information identified in the last 6 meetings the UNODC Questionnaire will be filled once again, which will allow for measuring the achieved progress; and 2) standard operating procedures will be developed identifying the responsibilities of the various organization in collecting and providing data in the future.
