On October 27 - 28, 2020, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) through its Global Firearms Program (GFP) organized discussions on arms trafficking cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the President of the Basic Court of Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Grcevic. The discussion included the applicable legal framework and identification of trainings and capacity building needs for judges. President Grcevic expressed his support for the activities in GFP’s project “Criminal Justice Response Against Arms Trafficking Project”. This project focuses on the current and future needs of the criminal justice system to countering illicit firearms trafficking and related offences in the Western Balkans countries. In the next three meetings with the President of the Judicial Commission of Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Pizovic, the Vice President of the Appellate Court of Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Kadric and the Chief Prosecutor of Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Mujkanovic, the members of the judiciary expressed interest in supporting the project activities.
