Technical Assistance

With a view to addressing the persisting challenges faced by many Member States regarding standardised and centralised firearms data collection and analysis, the Global Firearms Programme developed a technical assistance component to complement the global data collection efforts. The services provided under this component are tailored to the specific needs of each stakeholder and can include regional and national awareness-raising and training activities on the IAFQ and the role of the national focal point for the IAFQ; support in filling in the IAFQ; an assessment of national capacities and needs to fill in the IAFQ and to collect and record data on seized and trafficked firearms; and the provision and customization of templates that support firearms data collection during investigations, among other, among other services. Information on recent meetings and technical assistance activities is available on the Programme’s site on news and events .
