UNODC ETHIOPIA - Interview with Good Samaritan Association on Ending Gender-Based Violence
Ethiopia, 23 November 2020 – As part of the 16 Days of Activism and in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Margaret Akullo, UNODC Representative a.i. in Ethiopia, spoke with Ms Hirut Yibabe, Director and Co-Founder of the Good Samaritan Association. The Good Samaritan Association has two shelters which act as temporary homes for returning migrants and trafficked women and children. Ms Yibabe raised the increase of violence against women and girls following the COVID-19 crisis and the impact that has had on the women and children in the shelters she manages.
