Regional Event for South-Eastern Europe on Organized Crime Strategies and Gender and Human Rights Mainstreaming

July 2024, Vienna- Last week UNODC hosted the Regional Event for Southeastern Europe on Organized Crime Strategies and Gender and Human Rights Mainstreaming. The event marked the seventh and final regional workshop for the dissemination of the UNODC Toolkit on Mainstreaming Gender and Human Rights in the implementation of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime. Experts in the Pacific discuss Gender and Human Rights Responsive Organized Crime Strategies

July 2023, Fiji - The UNODC Global Programme on Implementing the Organized Crime Convention was in Pacific Harbour, Fiji on 1-4 July, to host the first ever back-to-back Regional Multi-stakeholder Meeting on Strategies against Organized Crime & Regional Event on Gender and Human Rights Mainstreaming in Preventing and Combating Organized Crime. The event brought together 18 participants, including national government and civil society organizations from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Nauru, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Transforming futures in Nigeria through a Women-led Network against Organized Crime

Central Asia and Southern Caucasus Event on Gender and Human Rights Mainstreaming in Preventing and Countering Organized Crime

May 2024, Samarkand- UNODC hosted the first ever Regional Multistakeholder Event on Gender and Human Rights Mainstreaming in Preventing and Countering Organized Crime in Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus. The three-day workshop covered and stimulated discussions on a range of topics related to gender and human rights mainstreaming in the fight against organized crime, including the various roles women play in organized criminal groups, the link between human rights and the Organized Crime Convention, as well as tools to mainstream gender and human rights in policy and legislation development. 2024 International Women's Day

March 2024 - On the occasion of International Women’s Day, UNODC has asked women from across the world how they contribute to the fight against organized crime. The Women Leaders Advancing Gender and Human Rights Responsive Organized Crime Responses

June 2023, Vienna - UNODC, in collaboration with the European Consortium for Political Research, hosted the 2023 Summer School on Transnational Organized Crime. United Kingdom announces funding to Gender and Human Rights Project

May 2023, Vienna - The Global Programme organized a side event during the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) on 'Effective tools on mainstreaming gender and human rights in the implementation of UNTOC'. During the event the UK announced its funding to support the gender and human rights project.

May 2023, Vienna - The Global Programme hosted a film screening of 'Primadonna' during the 2023 Constructive Dialogues for the Review of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
