Last month, UNODC opened the Call for Proposals for the DAPC 2022 Grant, aimed to support non-profit organizations working towards drug use prevention in low- and middle-income countries.
Funded generously by the Drug Abuse Prevention Center (DAPC) in Japan, the DAPC Grant programme aims to support non-profit organizations in low- and middle-income countries that are working on evidence-based drug prevention interventions which target and engage youth. Through the DAPC grants, UNODC Youth Initiative is able to support and engage with organizations that endeavour to work with youth in a meaningful way on drug use prevention activities.
We are delighted with the attention received from numerous candidates that applied for the grant. If you submitted an application, we ask for your kind patience as we undergo Phase 1 of the selection process. If a concept note is selected for the next phase, we will contact the applicant to ask a full project proposal as per the process described in the Call for Proposals.
As we prepare to welcome new DAPC grantees later in the year, we would also like to express appreciation to DAPC grantees who have shown dedication and motivation in implementing their projects. NGOs use their expertise in a variety of ways, from organizing creative radio shows, theatrical plays to skills training and webinars for social workers, caregivers and children. These are just some of the activities NGOs are advocating for and working on to make a positive change in their local communities and schools. Keep an eye out on our social media channels, where we will share glimpses of what DAPC grantees have been working on.
We look forward to new insights and meaningful engagement with potential partnering organizations in the near future!
