The Academy of General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan, in partnership with the Corruption and Economic Crime Branch of UNODC, organized this online event to promote the E4J University Modules on Anti-Corruption, Integrity and Ethics among experts, lecturers and students from Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and beyond. The objectives of the event were to enhance the participants’ familiarity with the E4J materials and to encourage their usage in Russian speaking countries. The event delivered its objectives in an interactive manner over two days.

Nigmadjanov Uygun

In 2003 U. Nigmadjanov graduated from the Tashkent state law Institute. He started his career in the Prosecutor's office in 2004 and held various positions in the Tashkent city Prosecutor's office. Lately, worked as a Prosecutor of the Department, Prosecutor, senior Prosecutor of the Department, Deputy head of the Department of the Prosecutor General's office. From 2012 to 2018, he held the position of head of the International legal Department of the Prosecutor General's office of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From 2018 to the present Deputy Head of the Academy.

Alex Petkov

Project Associate, UNODC

Alex Petkov is a Project Associate at the Corruption and Economic Crime Branch of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. He works on UNODC anti-corruption education initiatives and projects. He is also a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia, Bulgaria. Prior joining UNODC, he worked at the International Anti-Corruption Academy and the Bulgarian National Bank.

Ismailov Bakhodir

Head of the Scientific and Educational Center for Combating Corruption, Academy of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Doctor of Law. In 1997, he defended his dissertation on the topic “Legal Status of Special Economic Zones”, in 2007 he defended his doctoral dissertation “International Standards of Personal Rights and Human Freedoms”, specializing in international law. In 1996-1998 Senior Lecturer, Tashkent State Law University, 1998–2000 Head of the Department of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2000-2002 doctoral student at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. In 2002-2005 Head of the Department of the Center for Advanced Studies of Lawyers of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2007-2009 Team Leader of the Institute for Monitoring Current Legislation under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In 2009-2010 Head of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 2010–2018 Head of the Department of the Center for Advanced Studies of Lawyers of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Since December 2018, Head of the Scientific and Educational Center for Combating Corruption of the Academy of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Dinara Asanbaeva

Research Assistant,Department of Legal Studies Center for Integrity in Business and Government

Dinara Asanbaeva received a degree of Specialist in Law from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in 2002. In 2003, she worked as a teaching assistant at the department of civil law of the KRSU. In 2003-2005, Dinara obtained LL.M in Law from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Her LL.M studies were focused on international commercial law, contract law and law of obligations. From 2005 to 2009, Dinara worked for the OSCE educational project in Bishkek, the OSCE Academy, as academic supervisor. In 2009, Dinara was admitted to the S.J.D. program of the CEU Legal Studies Department.

 

Valentin Rosca

Lecturer at the International and European Law Department, Law Faculty, State University of Moldova

Holding a PhD in Law, Mr. Rosca is the author of 20 scientific research papers in the field of Public International Law, International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law. Domains of interest for research: International Humanitarian Law; protection of refugees in International Law; international criminal liability; international environmental protection; European Convention on Human Rights; etc. From 2017 onwards, he was involved as a trainer at the National Institute of Justice in the frame of continuous training programe of judges and prosecutors at the module of "Human Rights".

Valentin Rosca worked as Legal consultant on projects such as "New Lawyer generation active on Aarhus Convention" (2014), "Aarhus Centre for Environmental Information and Consultation” (2014) and GEF-UNDP “Capacities building for implementation of environmental fiscal reform to achieve the national and global environmental priorities” (2015). In addition, Valentin Rosca acted as legal adviser in International Relations and European Integration General Division, Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova (2007-2010), Lawyer at the Law Office “Rosca Valentin”, Judge-Inspector at the Superior Council of Magistrates (Judicial Inspection). Currently he is the Head of the Continuous Training Section, National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.

Davletbaeva Zhuldyz

Professor, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Кандидат социологических наук, профессор Национальной школы государственной политики Академии государственного управления при Президенте Республики Казахстан. Исследовательские интересы Жулдыз Давлетбаевой включают вопросы противодействия коррупции, добропорядочность, антикоррупционную культуру, этику государственных служащих Республики Казахстан. С 2015-2019гг. Жулдыз возглавляла Исследовательский центр по изучению вопросов противодействия коррупции, где изучала уровень восприятия коррупции среди населения и бизнес-сообщества Республики Казахстан. Госпожа Давлетбаева является одним из соавторов Национальных докладов для Главы государства по противодействию коррупции в Республике Казахстан, разработчиком обучающей магистерской программы «Антикоррупционная политика», которая реализуется на базе Академии государственного управления при Президенте Республики Казахстан.

 

Atanas Dimitrov

Assistant Professor and Researcher, University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Bulgaria

Atanas Dimitrov has PhD degree on Economics. His PhD thesis is about Economic aspects of Peacekeeping operations. In 2014 he worked as an EVS Volunteer in Diapason Cooperativa Sociale A R.L. – Onlus, Monza (MB) / Milan (MI), Italy. From 2015 to 2016 he worked as a part-time Lecturer in Peace Operations at the Depatment of National and Regional Security, University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria. Presently he is an Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Depatment of National and Regional Security of the University of National and World Economy.
